Dear Friend and Supporter,
The media feigns shock that polls show Newt Gingrich with a definitive lead among self-identified Tea Party supporters, but as a Tea Party organizer I know what they refuse to accept: Tea Party members have spent years gaining a deep understanding of important issues, and they identify with the depth and substance of this campaign. I am proud to have joined this campaign as the National Coalitions Director, and as a Tea Party member I look forward to building a coalition of all branches of the conservative movement because Newt Gingrich is a conservative we can trust.
Unlike many politicians, Newt didn’t play it safe with the Tea Party. While others played it safe, he didn’t refuse to participate in events and rallies as the media falsely accused us of being Astroturf, racists, extremists, and any other insult they could think of in an attempt to marginalize us. I know, because I helped organize the Tax-Day Tea Party in New York City on April 15, 2009, when millions of concerned Americans took to the streets across America to protest bloated government. And did you know that Newt Gingrich was our keynote speaker?!
I have been blessed to meet Tea Partiers from across the country who started a journey that day that Newt Gingrich spoke at our event in NYC. That journey started with a sense of fear and frustration over an unresponsive and growing government, and has led to an in-depth study of how things could have gotten so bad. It is exactly that reason why the well-informed and very conservative members of the Tea Party movement are flocking to Newt Gingrich.
Here are just a few of the reasons I proudly support Newt Gingrich:
The day that Al Gore testified before the Senate in favor of the cap-and-trade scheme, Newt testified against the scheme and led American Solutions to help defeat the measure.
Newt was an outspoken critic against Obamacare.
Newt holds an impressive record as Speaker, where he forced Bill Clinton to accept four straight years of balanced budgets, paid off more than $400 billion in taxpayer-held debt, passed the fundamental reform of welfare, and significantly cut the capital gains tax, which led Americans to create more than 11 million jobs!
The Tea Party was so effective in the 2010 elections because so many people understood that it takes resources to compete in elections and they pooled their resources together. Now our campaign needs your help to secure the nomination for the conservative candidate. Every contribution has an impact on our ability to unite the Republican Party and the conservative movement to defeat President Obama! There is no contribution too small, and you can give up to $2500 for an individual and $5000 for a couple! I thank you in advance for your continued support!
